“Healing takes time, patience, and acceptance. Naturally, agitating the body or the mind while it’s healing can be a shocking experience. But what if you put layers of bandages on top of a wound and take a bunch of meds for the pain? Without air, that wound will never heal. It will get infected. It will be much worse in the long run. Healing hurts. But avoiding the pain or covering up the pain of healing will hurt you much more in the long run. Stop running. Be kind to yourself. Be gentle. Embrace your wounds and dedicate yourself to healing them. You cannot erase what happened in the past, but you can move forward to become stronger, wiser, and more self-compassionate because of it.” XO
