“Here’s a simple method to help you stay in the present: Change your vocabulary. Specifically, give up the use of the following terms and all that they imply: blame, deserve, guilt, fair, fault. In doing so you will notice almost immediately that it is far more difficult to fall into negative emotional patterns. You will also see how habitual those patterns had become. The more we witness our emotional chain reactions and understand how they work, the easier it is to refrain. It becomes a new way of life to stay awake, slow down and notice. Everything changes once we identify with being the witness to the story, instead of the actor in it.” XO
